Round of app-lause: Vodafone adds host of innovative features to Official Glastonbury Festival app

Live location sharing and step counting are the headline new features of the Official Glastonbury Festival app from Vodafone for 2025.

  • Headline additions include live location sharing on the Glastonbury map, making it easier than ever for fans to find their mates across Glastonbury’s incredible 900-acre site, while step count tracking has been added to the popular ‘My Highlights’ post-Festival wrap, so festival-goers can compare to see who covered the most ground (or danced for the longest).
  • With ticketholders clocking up impressive step counts every day while on site, Vodafone will match the daily average from this year’s festival with a donation to its everyone.connected campaign, up to a maximum of 75,000 donations.
  • The app will also see the return of hit features from last year, including Spotify integration, Shareable Line-Ups, and Map Pinning.
  • The Official Glastonbury Festival app, powered by Vodafone, is now available for free on iOS and Android. In 2024, the app saw an impressive 226,215 total downloads from those visiting Worthy Farm or watching at home.
  • At Glastonbury Festival 2025, Vodafone’s reliable, award-winning network* will be boosted to the highest capacity ever. Paired with the upgraded Glastonbury Festival app, it will provide fans with an unparalleled experience, ensuring they stay connected to their friends and family.

Vodafone has launched the new, upgraded Official Glastonbury Festival app for 2025, packed with exciting new features to help music fans enjoy the ultimate festival experience at Worthy Farm in June.

Building on last year’s highly successful revamp, the 2025 edition of the app focuses on keeping friends and family connected at the nation’s most iconic festival.

Moo-sic festivals 2023: how COWs made a summer of strong signal

Ensuring special events, from Glastonbury to the Henley Regatta, get mobile signal requires a fleet of special equipment, planning ahead by a year and eagle-eyed monitoring.

The headline addition of live location sharing makes it easier than ever for ticketholders to find their mates – whether they’ve found a perfect spot in the crowd for a can’t-be-missed headliner or struck out solo to their favourite food stall.

Another exciting new feature is the addition of step counting to the popular ‘My Highlights’ post-festival wrap, which lets fans compare with their mates to see who’s covered the most ground or spent the most time on the dancefloor.

To celebrate the app’s exciting new features, Vodafone will help Glastonbury attendees turn their thousands of steps into positive social change, by matching the average festival-goer’s step count this year with donations through its everyone.connected programme, up to a maximum of 75,000 donations to local communities across the UK.

Vodafone’s everyone.connected initiative seeks to help people and businesses cross the digital divide, by providing connectivity, devices and skills to those who need it most. This is in addition to the 75,000 connections Vodafone has already donated as part of its existing partnership with Glastonbury, delivering an estimated social value of £4.5 million.

Vodafone supports drinks service at Glastonbury through network slicing

Vodafone dedicated a small portion of its network at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival to connect 102 of EBC's payment machines, using a technique known as network slicing.

Alongside live location and step count tracking, other key updates to the app include:

  • Shared Line-ups will now automatically update, helping festival-goers spot who their friends are seeing and allowing them to plan their day accordingly.
  • The ability to shortlist acts via ‘Add to Favourites’, helping fans distinguish between their locked line-up and their top considerations at one quick glance.
  • An intuitive map search feature, making it easier than ever to navigate Worthy Farm and hunt down different cuisines, locate camping and merch stands or discover new stages.

As well as these new additions, the 2025 Official Glastonbury Festival app also reprises all of its popular 2024 features, including: personalised recommendations on artists performing at the festival based on listening habits via Spotify; the ability to share line-ups with friends; Map Pinning to help users find everything from their tent to a favourite food stall; and automatic highlighting when artists overlap, to help navigate the festival’s stacked schedule.

The Official Glastonbury Festival app, powered by Vodafone, The Nation’s Network**, can be downloaded now from the App Store and Google Play Store. Last year’s Official Glastonbury app saw 226,215 total downloads. 88.9% of downloads were from festival-goers attending Worthy Farm, while 11.1% were from people viewing at home.

At Glastonbury Festival 2025, Vodafone’s reliable, award-winning network* will be boosted to the highest capacity ever. With data consumption hitting over 225 terabytes last year, fast and reliable connectivity is more important than ever to keep fans connected to their friends and family, whether they are watching from home or at the iconic Worthy Farm.

Vodafone breaks network data records at Glastonbury Festival yet again

225 terabytes of data was consumed by data hungry Festival-goers.

Maria Koutsoudakis, Chief Brand Officer, Vodafone UK, said: “As The Nation’s Network we are all about connecting fans to those moments that the nation loves, and Glastonbury Festival is no exception. We know the app plays a big role in the festival experience so, this year, we have gone even further to ensure that fans can connect with their friends or family and get as much out of Glastonbury as possible. Combined with us delivering the most Vodafone network capacity ever on-site, these new features will help festival-goers always be connected no matter where they are across the site.

“We’re delighted to be able to use these features to reward both fans and communities across the UK, by tying the new step count feature to our everyone.connected campaign. Social impact is a key part of Glastonbury’s ethos as a festival, and we’re proud to be able to play our part in that.”

As well as delivering the Official Glastonbury Festival app, Vodafone’s Connect & Charge tent will also keep all festival-goers powered up and connected, with free phone charging and WiFi to keep them going throughout the Festival. Vodafone Connect & Charge is in the centre of the Glastonbury site, close to the Other Stage, the Glade and the Pyramid Stage. Fans can find it using the interactive map in the app.
